|Synopsis|
Siobhan is a quick-tempered life coach with way too much on her plate. Miranda is a tree surgeon used to being treated as just one of the guys on the job. Jane is a soft-spoken volunteer for the local charity shop with zero sense of self-worth.
These three women are strangers who have only one thing in common: They’ve all been stood up on the same day, the very worst day to be stood up–Valentine’s Day. And, unbeknownst to them, they’ve all been stood up by the same man.
Once they’ve each forgiven him for standing them up, they let him back into their lives and are in serious danger of falling in love with a man who seems to have not just one or two but three women on the go….
Is there more to him than meets the eye? And will they each untangle the truth before they all get their hearts broken?

The No-Show really ended up taking me by surprise. My review for it is going to be a bit scant because I donโt want to give too much away so you too can be caught up in it all like I was. It was a heartbreaking, yet heartwarming story about love, loss and finding someone that loves you broken bits and all.
Joseph Carter seemed liked the biggest shmuck in the UK. Three women are stood up on Valentineโs Day by him which causes a chain of reactions in all of their lives. We have Siobhan (Shiv), Miranda and Jane. All these women were such wonderful characters and had their own issues that they were dealing with. I loved getting to know each of them though and I canโt say I ever wanted to skip forward to anyones chapters in particular, I looked forward to them all.
The premise of the book was so interesting and so different from anything Beth OโLeary had written before. She truly had a way of making me love all of her characters, including the side ones. The set up for the big twist was so perfect I didnโt even know to expect one. Like her other books it is character based versus plot based, though there was never a dull moment. I was drawn to Joseph and the women, easily sucked into their lives.
While I loved this book by the end, I did get stuck at the beginning a bit. It was more a me issue than the book itself though because every time I did pick it up I had to literally be torn away from it. If youโre already a Beth OโLeary fan you wonโt be disappointed and even if you arenโt donโt sleep on these amazing characters and this beautiful story.
